Los Angeles Film School (LAFS) is a private for-profit type institution founded in the year 1999, by investor Paul Kessler. The university is located in Los Angeles and it's next to Los Angeles Recording School. The inauguration ceremony was done by Oliver Stone in 1999 and the school begins its path in Hollywood's golden legacy.

The school wants to establish currentindustry professionals where they can share their knowledge with new filmmakers. The L.A Recording School is the division of the Los Angeles Film School which began in 1985. The school is one of the best film schools in the nation.

Presently, the Los Angeles Film School offers associate and bachelor degrees in multiple disciplines across the entertainment and media industry. The degree comprises of the entertainment business, music production animation, game, film production, and recording arts. The mission of The Los Angeles Film School is to inspire students and to prepare them for career opportunities in the entertainment industry.

With a student population of more than 3806 the school focuses on imparting a curriculum that integrates technical knowledge with artistic creativity and exploration. The instructional facilities at Los Angeles Film School are fantastic and the school has a stadium-style 340 plus seat theater that is equipped to screen 35mm and 16mm film, 4K, high definition, and with a suspended catwalk to give maximum lighting flexibility with multiple production stages where students can learn lighting, cinematography, directing, production design and all other aspects of film production in real-world settings.

The Los Angeles Film School accreditation was given by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
