Elias was walking on the back roads of the village after school, hoping a change of scenery would make that day somewhat interesting. That was the first time he saw Alina, she was so small back then. The girls brown hair was a mess of knots, her body covered in dirt and muck. She only wore a thin shirt that was so large for her it reached to her ankles.
Seeing her for the first time was an awkward moment for him, there he was just gawking at her like she was an endangered species. 
The girl was fishing, a small stick and line being plopped into the stream she was sitting at. 
"Oh. Hello" Alina said, looking up at the boy behind her. The girls eyes were a light forest green with spots of yellow, the sun gleaming across them seemingly cast a spell upon the boy, he couldn't look away. 
Elias tried to form words but was left speechless. What could he possibly say to this stranger before him? The last thing he wanted was to reply with a simple hello in return. He wanted to ask questions.
Why was she here?
Who was she?
He was very rarely phased by anything. So this was a new feeling bubbling inside of his chest was foreign, something he hadn't felt before...
Pity.
"Um- are you okay?" The girl asked.
Elias realized how strange he must seem just staring at her, a look on his face that seemed odd. He decided to say nothing as he moved towards her slowly and sat in the dirt by her side.
"You can't talk?" She asked, her little nose scrunched in confusion. 
"I can" 
"Oh" she turned away from his gaze, her cheeks suddenly warm from embarrassment. Alina felt very awkward sitting next to someone her age so clean and perfect. She hoped he wasn't thinking she smelled bad, or how disgusting she was. Feeling self conscious she turned from his stare even further, her back to him completely "what do you want?"
He wanted nothing.
"Are you poor?" Elias immediately went red as he realized what he had asked. What he said made the girl spin around to stare wide eyed at him in bewilderment. His intentions weren't to be so rude "I mean- um- I haven't seen you at school before-"
"-It's okay" Alina interrupted his babbling, clearly seeing he was flustered "I am poor" the girl shrugged, there was no denying it. "I can't go to school"

The two kids sat and spoke for an hour, the tension in the air never left and Elias didn't learn much about her. Instead they talked about random things like how tasty fish are or how the sound of the water was calming. The conversation was slow but steady, moments of silence would happen but it never felt empty.
The time fluttered by and as the sun kissed the horizon Elias stood. "I should go"
"Okay" Alina replied also standing, her hands grasping each other and her eyes cast downward "it was nice to meet you"
The fishing rod was long forgotten at their feet.
He simply nodded and walked away.
Alina thought she would never see him again, she didn't know his name or anything about him so she was certain the boy would never return.
Even so... she bit her lip as she realized she would be spending tomorrow by the stream again. 
Would she be waiting for him?
Perhaps that was the truth, but she didn't want to admit it.

Four days passed and it was the weekend, alone by the stream Alina wore a solemn look on her dirty face. She picked up tiny stones and tossed them softly into the water, watching as the ripple would fan out across the smooth surface. The girl never looked at her own reflection, she was afraid to see how she looked. 
The sound of laughter made her look up as kids walked towards her, they all seemed to be close friends. 
The girls had perfect hair, soft and shiny... Alina was jealous.
A gasp cut the chatter off as one girl amongst the group spotted her.
Alina was so frail looking, her cheeks sucked in and the darkness under her eyes scared the students. 
"Disgusting" a girl whispered, her voice held fake fear as she clung to a boy and shrunk away.
Alina knew that girl must be a b-tch
"It's just the freak" the boy said.
Alina felt her heart twist in pain.
"Wait" another said "this one is dangerous, that's what my grandmother said"
Still the other boy kicked up pebbles, the small stones landing like heavy rain on Alina.
"No way! She is just pathetic" 
The one student who warned them left unnoticed, heading home.
But as for the rest...
A small bubble of laughter erupted from the group as Alina tried to clean herself off. She wore a frustrated expression, her face suddenly feeling extremely hot. 
A fire began to burn in her stomach, one that twisted and churned, boiling over and seeping its way into all of her body. 
Once again the boy kicked up pebbles "Look she's getting angry- aw how cute"
Alina clenched her fists as she tried to regain control of her anger but it was no use as she heard their hurtful words and laughter continue.
"Ugly"
She grabbed her own fistful of pebbles and sent them flying towards the laughing group, only the strength behind her throw was wickedly powerful. The seemingly innocent pebbles hit the group with such force that it stung their skin and made them yell out in pain. 
The girls began to cry, the entire group began spitting out more words of anger and hatred towards Alina. 
Vile words cutting deep.
"Go away!" She yelled, tears began to fog her vision. Alina stood up, her weakness making her feel dizzy. Then something strange happened...
Rocks began to fly from the stream towards the young group of teens. Hitting them over and over.
"Let's get out of here" A girl said.
They all began to run but the stones still flew towards them- harder and harder- until they were backed against the wall and couldn't escape.
"Stop!" A new voice called.
She recognized the voice immediately, it calmed her like a bucket of water to a flame. She relaxed and everything stopped.
Elias walked forward.
"Leave" he said to the group that was now silent in fear.
The group ran off down the street. Whispers and soft cries disappearing into the village as they left.
"What was that?" Sasuke asked.
Alina blinked, her memories of the past few moments beginning to fade "what?" 
"You were attacking those people" Elias raised a single eyebrow.
"What- no!" Alina shook her head "I would never hurt anyone" but her words didn't feel certain, there was doubt behind them.
"I'm leaving" He said, his back towards her "that wasn't normal, you really are a freak"
Alina's tears began to now stream down her cheeks.
"I know" she whispered, but he never heard because he was already gone.
After that Alina decided she would avoid her favourite nook by the stream, her guilt and embarrassment stamping a mark on her heart. She could never face him again... 
Even though she doubted he would go visit her spot, she was still too ashamed to stay, so Alina left in hopes to be forgotten.
